The catch: guests must download the Lense app on iOS or Android. That app requirement drops participation rates significantly — guests at a wedding reception are not installing apps. Lense also has no true film simulation (digital filters only) and no gallery upload for pro photos. Their partner program link returns a 404.

Best for: Tech-forward guests who don't mind an app download and want a polished, well-funded platform.

Once.film — Closest competitor, same model

Once.film matches flshbckz on the most important dimension: no app required. Guests access the camera through a browser. They also offer a delayed reveal — the "developing film" experience — and an auto-generated recap video.

Where they fall short: their film looks are digital filters, not modeled film stocks. They don't support video. They don't have gallery upload for pro photos. They don't have a partner program. For the guest experience, Once.film and flshbckz are similar. For the host experience — and for photo quality — flshbckz pulls ahead.

Best for: Budget-conscious hosts who want the no-app experience and don't need video, pro photo integration, or a partner program.

Guestlense — Affordable, but broken

Guestlense offers unlimited photo and video at a flat $49 (digital) or $99 (with printed QR cards). No app required. Live slideshow included.

The problem: half their site returns 404s — /features, /blog, /faq, /for-vendors, /guestpix all dead. They have no film simulation, no scheduled reveal, no pro photo upload, and strict time limits (3 months upload, 12 months access). The site hygiene issues suggest a team that may not be around long.

Best for: Hosts who want the cheapest unlimited-photo option and aren't worried about platform longevity.

Rompolo — Generic, does the basics

Rompolo is a web-only platform positioned as a digital guestbook, kudoboard alternative, and event photo sharing tool all in one. It works. Guests scan a QR code, upload photos and video, and a live slideshow displays them.

But Rompolo has no film simulation, no scheduled reveal, no pro photo integration, and no partner program. At $20–60 per event, it's the cheapest paid option — but it's a generic file uploader, not a curated photo experience.
